Think Potato Institute Website Launches 2026

Digital archive documenting three decades of potato art, research, and culture • www.thinkpotatoinstitute.org

After more than thirty years of artistic practice, collecting, exhibitions, publications, lectures, festivals, and research, the Think Potato Institute launched its first permanent public website.

Designed as a digital archive, research platform, institutional headquarters, and educational resource, ThinkPotatoInstitute.org brought together decades of previously scattered documentation into a single public location. The site includes exhibitions, projects, publications, lectures, timeline entries, archival materials, community initiatives, and the ongoing TPI Chronicle.

While earlier projects such as the TPI Riverhead Temporary Headquarters (2010) offered temporary physical spaces for the Institute, the launch of ThinkPotatoInstitute.org established the first permanent public home for the Think Potato Institute and created a foundation for future research, collaboration, documentation, and public engagement.

The website represents a significant milestone in the evolution of TPI from a long-running artistic practice into a publicly accessible institution. By preserving the history of POTATOISM while simultaneously generating new projects, connections, and opportunities, the site serves as both archive and engine—documenting the past while helping shape the future of the Think Potato Institute.
