The Think Potato Institute (TPI) is an interdisciplinary archive, research initiative, and educational platform founded by Jeffrey Allen Price.
Through exhibitions, publications, lectures, collecting, and creative projects, TPI explores the cultural, artistic, historical, symbolic, scientific, and imaginative life of the potato.
TPI serves as a home for Potato Humanities, the interdisciplinary study of the potato’s role in art, culture, history, society, science, folklore, media, and everyday life. Through research, documentation, education, and public engagement, the Institute seeks to expand understanding of the potato as one of humanity’s most significant and enduring cultural objects.
